Pasig Marikina River Channel Improvement Management Project

Pasig Marikina River Channel Improvement Project (Phases I,II, III,IV), a JICA Loan Project by DPWH, is considered a major project of CTII and one of the biggest engineering interventions by DPWH in Metro Manila to mitigate flooding from Manila’s largest waterways: Pasig, Marikina, and San Juan with total drainage area of 635 km2 . From year 2000 to present, Feasibility Study, Detailed Engineering Design, and Construction Supervision were done for structural and non-structural measures that span 42.35 km of river channel improvement works that include dredging of river bed, construction of dikes and river walls and boundary banks, and  bridge pier protection covering Delpan Bridge, Napindan River, Mangahan Floodway, and Marikina Bridge.
